Dear Parents, Dear Teachers, Dear Members of the DSBHK School Community,
We would like to inform you about some important updates at our school.
Next week, students and teachers will receive a new timetable, which will be valid starting October 5.
This change is due to the fact that we will be welcoming Mr. Ahmed Abdeloraby to our school team on October 1. He will be teaching German in classes 5a, 5b, 6a, and 8b. Additionally, he will become the new homeroom teacher of class 6a. This will allow Mr. Diaa to focus more on class 5a and relieve his workload.
On October 1, Ms. Dunja Alhayani will be leaving us for family reasons. Ms. Mariam Soliman will take over class 1b until further notice.
Ms. Fatma Mohamed has been temporarily teaching class 4b for the past two weeks, and Mr. Diaa will take over mathematics lessons in this class starting October 5.
Ms. Ingy Sami, Head of Primary School, is currently conducting interviews with candidates to make new hires and improve the quality of teaching.
We are pleased to welcome Ms. Jehane Habib as our new school secretary. She can be contacted via email at sec@bhs-egypt.com. Her responsibilities include organizing teacher substitutions in the morning and handling all related administrative tasks. Teachers should report absences by sending an email to absence@bhs-egypt.com and informing Ms. Habib. She also coordinates appointments with teachers and works closely with the administrative management.
Ms. Sherine Osman is working as the assistant to the school management and can be reached at ds@bhs-egypt.com. She is responsible for monitoring student tardiness and absences in the morning and in the Late Arrival Room, as well as handling admission tests for new students. She also oversees the school library and supervises the DSD exams.
Ms. Silvia Gennari will take over the role of DSD Coordinator and Head of German as a Foreign Language (DaF) in Secondary School. Her email is dsd@bhs-egypt.com.
DSD Exams: The DSD II exams for grade 11 will take place at our school on November 11 and 13. We are honored to welcome Mr. Frank Breuer, the new “German Language Advisor for the Middle East Region” from the ZFA, as the chairperson of the exams. The exams will run from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on both days.
Ms. Masouda Stelzer will take on the role of academic and career advisor together with Ms. Rania Fekry, and will be responsible for organizing internships for grade 10.
On November 10, the annual Study Information Day for all German schools in Egypt will take place at the DEO. Ms. Fekry and Ms. Stelzer will accompany grades 11 and 12 to the DEO on that day.
A new Teachers’ Council has been elected. The representatives are:

The Teachers’ Council meets weekly. Chairperson is Ms. Amal Lenzen, and deputy chairperson is Ms. Fatma Saad. The council can be contacted via lehrerbeirat@bhs-egypt.com. Weekly meetings take place in the LB room. The first initiative of the council was organizing a joint afternoon for the teaching staff to get to know the new colleagues.

Next Tuesday, the election of the Student Council (SMV) and the trusted teachers will take place. The candidates have uploaded their campaign videos to the school’s Teams channel, where all students can view them.
